Our Process
How we work
From early ideas to finished construction, here is how we guide each project forward.
The Steps
From first conversation to finished project
Initial Conversation
Tell us about your project: what you are hoping to change, your location, and where you are in the process. We will ask practical questions to understand the scope, timeline, and any challenges, and we will let you know whether the project seems like a good fit.
1
On-Site Visit & Scope Development
We visit the property to review the existing conditions, take measurements, and discuss the work in detail. We will help define the scope, identify any practical considerations, and begin outlining the next steps.
2
Planning, Drawings & Permits
We prepare or coordinate drawings as needed for the project, and we handle permit applications and related documentation. For projects with an existing architect or designer, we review and contribute to the drawings to ensure they are practical for construction.
3
Construction & Trade Coordination
We coordinate the necessary trades and carry the project through construction with regular updates and attention to the details of the finished work. Sam remains the point of contact throughout, so you know who to call with questions.
4
Completion & Final Details
After construction, we walk through the finished work together, confirm everything is complete, and address any final adjustments. We will also provide a final overview of work completed and any relevant project information.

Frequently asked questions
-
We work on residential renovations and additions, apartment and multifamily projects, and light commercial renovations. We also handle kitchens, bathrooms, and interior and exterior improvements. We are happy to discuss your project and let you know whether it is a good fit.
-
Not necessarily. We can help you define the scope early on, and we are able to prepare project drawings or coordinate with your architect or designer when needed. Some projects start with a clear idea but no formal plans, and we help shape the work from there.
-
Our projects typically involve substantial renovation work, rather than small repairs or handyman jobs. We are happy to discuss your project and let you know whether the scope and budget align with the work we do.
-
After understanding the scope, we prepare a proposal based on the work involved. We provide clear breakdowns of labor, materials, and trade coordination, and we keep you informed as the project progresses. If changes arise during construction, we will discuss them with you before proceeding.
-
Yes. We regularly collaborate with architects and designers. Because Sam has an architectural background, he is able to communicate clearly with design professionals and help translate design intent into practical construction plans.
-

-
You can call or message us with a description of your project. We will ask a few questions, and if it seems like a good fit, we will schedule an on-site visit to review the property and discuss the work in detail.
